The “Ultimate Top Gun Experience” is unique in the UK, and is the closest you can get to being a fighter pilot for the day. After a formation take-off and close formation manoeuvring, you will fly some aerobatic manoeuvres (yourself!) and be introduced to tail-chasing/simulated air combat against your opponents aircraft - the sport of kings! This is a hands on experience – you are not a passenger – you fly the plane, you feel the g-force, you get the thrill. “Ultimate Top Gun” air combat/tailchasing flights are in the Extra 300, a modern high performance display aircraft. The trip is flown in pairs in close formation. Guests are able to fly a large proportion of the flight themselves (apart from take-off, landing and close formation), under the careful guidance of their instructor. Tail chase through the skies in an adrenalin-fuelled blast, where you get to go head to head with your opponent. Powered by a 300bhp Lycoming engine, the Extra 300 is an ultra light weight, state of the art, high technology display aircraft. During your thrilling flight you’ll be able to take the controls and experience the manoeuvring capabilities of the 300, fly basic aerobatics and learn how to tail chase, if that wasn’t enough you’ll also be playing ‘shoot the bandit’ whilst airborne! If straightforward flying seems a bit tame, try this airborne navigational adventure, strapped in to an ex-military Bulldog to complete a series of quick-fire missions with some breathtaking aerobatic manoeuvres along the way. Your experience begins with a flight and safety briefing from your ex-military instructor before you get kitted out in a flying suit. Then you'll take to the air in the Bulldog, sitting side by side with your instructor during a thrilling aerobatic flight demonstration. Next you'll take the controls of the plane yourself to complete a series of navigational tasks, finding a set of targets whilst maintaining your heading and speed. At each target you'll circle once to get the info you need to complete your mission. Depending on how well you do, your instructor might give you some additional tasks at short notice.
