Whether you've always fancied yourself as the next Errol Flynn, Zorro or even Luke Skywalker or Madonna, our introduction to fencing will help give you a real insight into the Olympic sport of fencing. You'll start with a full safety briefing where a top international coach will introduce you to the basics, including a quick workout to learn the essential footwork. Then you'll be shown the equipment including foil and mask and will go through the different techniques taught in order to help you beat your opponent. You'll learn all the basics and terminology (including some French!) that goes with them, such as the lunge, parry, riposte and feint. Before ending your session, you can put all you have learned into practice by challenging your coach to a duel. Finally, you will be given a demonstation of the three different swords used in fencing (foil, epee and sabre - all used quite differently within the rules of fencing).
